BI Data Governance & Quality Analyst

About this role:

As a BI Data Governance & Quality Analyst, you will be the data quality management expertise for the implementation of data governance projects. You are responsible for preparing and providing the definition of data quality requirement and data quality scorecard. You will support BI Lead to produce more accurate and comprehensive information from and across the enterprise consistently over time.

What you’ll do and what success looks like in this role:

  • Implement and operationalize the Data Governance roadmap, focusing on data handling, data usage, data curation, and data quality through policy, auditing, and collaboration
  • Collaborate with partners to determine root causes of data quality issues and put preventative/detective controls in place
  • Research and resolve any issues escalated from business and domain areas to the BICOE and report back progress
  • Design and maintain data dictionary/ catalog documents. Identify and maintain data owners and stewards of the company's information assets
  • Define, visualize, and publish data governance and quality KPIs to stakeholders
  • Proactively identify potential data issues and downstream impact of system changes
  • Perform data governance audits to report on compliance
  • Proactively perform data quality audits to find inconsistent data, incomplete data, and rule violations and initiate data remediation efforts

What is required and what we’re looking for:

  • Degree holder in Finance, Statistics, Technology or other related disciplines
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in data management, data quality and/or governance or relevant consulting experience
  • Strong project management skills in managing business data governance solution implementation and delivery of projects
  • Experienced in establishing and successfully implementing Data Governance programs, developing and implementing data standards, policies, practices, and procedures that lead to substantive improvements in data management and quality
  • Demonstrated ability to problem-solving including research, error detection, root cause analysis, error correction, conceptual, analytical and decision-making skills
  • Knowledge of banking industry preferred
  • A strong understanding of information systems, data processing, storage and architecture
  • Knowledge of at least one Data Experience with Quality tools
  • Ability to work independently and strategically, open to tackling new issues and sounding out new ideas
  • A proactive and can-do attitude
  • Excellent communication skills in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin
